I absolutely love the class structure! The format makes it easy to learn new techniques. It's very welcoming of newcomers, and the classes seem to just fly by. It doesn't matter when you start, you can jump right in and pick it up fairly quickly. I would highly recommend this to anyone who is looking to try something different, or to anyone who is looking to expand their knowledge and experience in the martial arts.

They state that for the kids class it is 6 years and up. I started taking my 5-year-old son to personal lessons just after his birthday several months back with Jon. After about 2 or so months of one on one classes, he got to join the kids class and absolutely loves it! Jon is just incredible with all the kids. He shows each of them just enough one on one attention without taking away from the rest of the class. We all look forward to those two classes a week!!

10th Planet Jiu Jitsu Newark truly is a special gym/club. I believe it is due to Jon Borrows. Jon is one of the most polite, respectful, positive guys I have ever met with a gift of teaching Jiu Jitsu and also being a supportive coach and friend to people at all levels and walks of life. His gym is for men or women new to Jiu Jitsu to the experienced,to kids. All ages, sizes and skill levels equally get Jons individual attention and coaching. He fosters a positive, supportive, fun, clean environment with safety as top priority. 10th Planet Style Jiu Jitsu that Jon teaches is super fun and for anybody (even people who aren't flexible). I always look forward to going, take my children to train there when there schedules permit (and they love it and love Jon). I highly recommend 10th Planet Jui Jitsu. It doesn't matter if you are looking to lose weight, learn self defense, compete, have fun, gain confidence, or just see what 10th Planet Jui Jitsu is all about. Stop in or get a hold of Jon you will be glad you did. I also want to mention that all the members that train there are great people from all walks of life. So regardless of age, size, back grounds, looks all these people are great teammates, safe training partners and supportive good people that I am proud to call my friends. I must add as I am spending more time here at 10th Planet Newark I have to recognize all my Team Mates. They are supportive and my growth and safety is just as important as there’s. Great people and thanks to them all!
